A Month Of Sundays: Day 10 (#538)

It is raining today in Portland, Oregon.  But that does not stop anyone here from going outdoors.  It did not stop me either.

I went into the city to visit The Grotto, The National Sanctuary of Mary, the mother of Jesus.   A place of “solitude, peace, and prayer.”

The paths through the lush gardens and tall trees are intermingled with shrines from different countries, the grotto, religious scultpures, reflecting pools, a meditation chapel and a labyrinth.

Thankful for this day of reflection and meditation on the paths, the labyrinth and in the meditation chapel of The Grotto ~

Beautiful pictures everything is so lush and green. So nice to see in the dead of winter in PA. Thanks for sharing them.

HI Annie, the Grotto is one area I was thinking you should go. Joseph Hill Park in Portland (south of I84) on a clear is (if you get it) is pretty good too. Here is link to their website and a link to a map

It all looks so at home in the rain. Beautiful shots Annie!
