Scotts Bluff And Wagon Ruts (#645)

A pleasant “deja vu” awaited me when I stopped for the night Tuesday in Ogallala, Nebraska.  Country View RV was a place I had stayed 10 years ago on my first trip west.  Same lovely campground; same great hosts.

Wednesday I stayed at Robidoux Park, right next to Scotts Bluff National Monument which sits along the Oregon Trail.

My day was spent hiking up and down the trails at the Bluff.  Saddleback Mountain, North and South Lookouts and parts of the Oregon Trail.  I saw wagon ruts still cut deep into the trail from the pioneers Conestoga wagons making their way west in the 1800s.

What a trip that must have been.

I am enjoying reading about your travels. It was so great meeting you at A Big Wheel RV Campground in St. Mary`s, Georgia.

    • Hi Ruth ~ I am happy you are enjoying the journey with me. I returned to Big Wheel a couple years ago mainly to see you and your husband. They told me you both stayed in Canada that year due to illness. I only stayed one night then moved on. Hope you are well and happy.
