Pasque Flowers In The Wild Hills (#648)

I am not a “get in the car and go until you get there” kind of person.  I enjoy following my whims, some inner voice that says “stop now, get out, walk around, look, see, smell, touch.”  And so I do.

That is how I found them.  At the top of a winding mountain road in the Black Hills; the state flower of South Dakota ( I have since found out).

Actually, I had stopped because of a rainbow spotted in the distance over another mountain.

My Discovery Rainbow

After photographing the rainbow, walking around; there they were.  Fuzzy, violet, baby pasque flowers ~ beautiful spring flowers of the hills.
